Elektra Microcasa boiler leak

Thanks for the advice; I had tried raising it on blocks before but I wasn't able to confirm the leak. I will try again. I should add that the pressurestat tube is fully dry, whereas the inside of the element contact appears to be slightly damp

Elektra Microcasa boiler leak

My MCAL has a slow boiler leak. It has started to occasionally hiss, and after several days' use, a little bit of water will pool under the machine. I knew the heating element connectors were corroding; today I finally opened it and this is what I found: {image} {image} The boiler gasket is in very ...

Madebyknock: Knock Hausgrind

So if I understand correctly, the adjustment is the same as the Pharos when it first came out, with the addition of a dial. This would explain what you're seeing with the grinding effort getting progressively harder (and grinding finer): what's happening is that both the nut and the handle are turni...

Replacing Pharos 2 adjustment nuts

+1! It's extremely easy to make adjustments this way, small or big. The only problem is when I accidently break the nuts by turning the wrong one, but that has only happened when I'm not fully awake

Elektra Microcasa a Leva, coffee + grams + tamp?

Don't blame your scale, it's probably your grinder! Assuming your Pharos is not modded, the last gram or so can sometimes take some determination to knock out. RDT can help a lot (by reducing static cling). Try this: before your first grind of the morning, see if you can knock anything out. You migh...

Commercial levers vs. profiling pump machines - a call for a shootout

What temperature rise in a home lever? Your own MCAL temperature study shows a temperature decline: "Elektra Microcasa a Leva Explored with a Group Thermometer" I don't know enough about different machines to make generalizations, but for both the Caravel and the MCAL the following is true: when you...

What is a Geisha coffee?

Here in Canada, Social has this one at $32 for 8oz: {link} That's in the neighbourhood of $3 a cup. Not an everyday coffee, but as something special, to share with friends over the holidays? I think I might!
