I had a very similar problem to yours. My solution ended up being air flow related. The chaff drawer at the bottom of the roaster wasn't closing completely this was messing up the air flow. I've owned a lot of home roasters including the two you are considering. I like the M3 workflow and result in the cup better than the huky. The Huky is a very capable roast, don't get me wrong. I just prefer the M3
