Announced: Argos lever espresso machine by Odyssey Espresso

I just bought my Argos Espresso Machine! Pressure gauge (manual), default to 8 bar spring and bought the 6 bar spring option as well as the quick change piston. May go with digital pressure through the app later, but right now I want to learn and refine the craft when the machine arrives in a more t...

How to dial in the Baratza Preciso for multiple brew methods?

Great explanation, I agree with all of it and simply ask what a "pulse pour" is? I have tried to research that since I have seen it on HB over the years, but never really got a good answer. I have a Bonavita goose neck kettle, so I always try to work the pour so that the stream

How to dial in the Baratza Preciso for multiple brew methods?

First, thank you for all the great feedback by everyone...this is all very helpful. My only question for this post is simple, how do I test microns? I read the same Mark Prince post and know the charts, I guess since I do not have an instrument to test microns I just wanted to understand the grinder...

How to dial in the Baratza Preciso for multiple brew methods?

Ok, forgive me for starting this new topic if this softball has already been lobbed and smashed out of the park on this forum before, but I have searched and searched and can't find the answer I need. So, I need a "how to" for my new Baratza Preciso grinder. I am elated with this grinder

When shopping for an espresso machine, how important is the warranty?

Speaking as a fellow Texan who has purchased an espresso machine from 1st Line in the past I believe it is most important to be confident in the manufacturer warranty. I also think that doing the labor yourself is likewise something that you will want too commit to since shipping is costly. In short...

Hario V60 Pourover by Matt Perger [video]

OK. Had a strange one this morning and I want to hear from some of you to learn how this happened. In short, I had a pour over using the Chemex (yeah, In know, different than v60) that lasted 10 minutes from start to finish. I shoot for 4:30-5 based on my roasters advice at 50g with

Pourover: Adjusting grind for bigger/smaller volume.

I have a lot of success asking the roaster. For example, one of the coffees I rotate regularly is evocation. I am not here to speak for him, only to tell you how I talk with evocation to guide my own efforts at home. I ask the owner/roaster what brew ratio he uses at his pour over

Does a "GOOD" electric drip brewer exist? Technivorm? Bonavita?

Thanks so much for the tip. I tried a pot this morning and used my bonavita goose neck kettle to do a de-gassing for 30 seconds with a pore of 50grams. I then put it under the showerhead and ran a brew time of 5 minutes 10 seconds with a weighted bean of 54 grams and water of

Does a "GOOD" electric drip brewer exist? Technivorm? Bonavita?

So are you saying you have the thermal carafe and Melita v60 with paper filter filled with grounds out on the counter (not in the Bonavita placeholder the carafe sits on while under the spray-head) and you pre-gas using a goose neck kettle for 30-45 seconds much like you would brewing Chemex or any ...

Espresso in Dallas?

Maynard is giving the best possible advice. I have been to all his recommendations, by far for me the two must gets are Cultivar for the espresso and tacos and Oak Lawn if you are an absolute iced coffee nut like I am. A note on Cultivar, they do this side by side espresso that is quite awesome
