Lelit Bianca vs Decent Espresso

Thanks, I found it and read through most of it. I loved the last line before the conclusion: "2. Andy Schecter is at least a decade ahead of the rest of us."

Lelit Bianca vs Decent Espresso

The mouth feel is highly dependent on grinder and profile used. With the profile I created I get similar mouth feel to the Astoria lever I used to use. I'd have to see the reviews your talking about for context

Lelit Bianca vs Decent Espresso

Wow, it's been a long time since I've logged in here. I just wanted to pipe in on why I bought my DE1, and what I love about it after having used it for 5 months. Pre-purchase reasons for me to buy: 1) Incredible opportunities to push the limits of espresso AND automated pourovers. 2)

In Memoriam: Dustin Demers- A friend and a coffee roaster

I wish I was back posting on H-B for a much better reason. I was so sorry to hear this yesterday. I'm very grateful I was able to get a pourover from Dustin at Stanza on a Bay Area trip last spring. It was the first, and only time, I had met him in person and he

Trystero back in the news

Thanks guys. I'm flattered that I'm on this list at all, and I think my position is undeserved. On any given day there are at least 8 other roasters on that list that do better work than me, and Jon at Cognoscenti and Kian do every day. But the most important thing is it's about time that

Mill City 3k and 6k Roasters

Haven't been on H-B much lately but was doing some research for a friend and absolutely loved this quote. Unfortunately one neighbor hates even light roasts out of my IR-1 here at home. But thankfully all my neighbors of my IR-2.5 (a couple of miles away) are cool with it

Repeating results is impossible with some coffees

Are you absolutely sure it's the roast and not the brew? I.e, you sure your cupping/brewing variables are absolutely consistent? I can't recall the last time I saw any variation within a season (and being in LA there hasn't been much seasonal variation the last 2 years hahaha) for a given bean

Roasting Techniques to Preserve and Enhance Acidity

I've ended up at around 5, 4:15, 1:30 on my Diedrich for washed Ethiopian beans. For me this gives me nice acidity with plenty of sweetness. Going to 5, 4, 1:15 starts getting too tannic for me, and going longer leaves me with flatter coffee
