Compak E8 vs. Macap M7D
What are your favorite espresso notes right now, and are you drinking straight espresso or adding milk? Do you have any local shops that use flat burrs, so you could compare flavor profiles? I didn't find 83mm flat burrs to be a huge change from 64mm flat, but I found the 68mm conical to be "the thi...

Aillio Bullet R1 roasting machine
Hi guys, FYI I received a call from Jonas a few nights ago. He told me they were having to refund the Paypal pre-orders, because it wasn't allowing them to use the funds as the products had not shipped (defeating the purpose of the pre-order and they have big parts orders happening now). For those t...

Nuova Simonelli MDX, MDL and MCF with conical burrs?
If that were possible it would be awesome (and every one of these would be scooped up instantly). At the very least, a lower conical burr has a shaft going through it and a bolt through the top. Flat burrs sit atop a flat plate mounted by three screws. And conicals need much higher watt motors. My F...

LUCCA M58 by Quick Mill, reviews and owners thread
Congrats! I ran my Vetrano 2B for some months happily before I realized I had 20 amp breakers in my kitchen, and I've been slightly happier since I switched to 20 (now rocking the 20 amp M58). I do love watching how much faster the machine warms up with both boilers running, and If you steam much mi...

SCAA 2015: Mahlkonig Peak First Impressions
I was pretty psyched to get to try a few different coffees from the Peak at SCAA, when though straight espresso isn't my fave. The milder ratios from the Peak were much easier to drink and enjoy than most of what I'm used to testing at the show (even with some pretty wild Kenyan). I'd never tried an...

LUCCA M58 by Quick Mill, reviews and owners thread
I've heard this too, but a plumbed in rotary machine is able to refill faster than it can dispense. If you're running off a reservoir, then this definitely can be risky. But replacing a heating element is not a big deal at all (and every machine will need one eventually), it's just like removing and...

Clive Coffee, TESTED new Quick Mill Lucca M58 (vs Profitec 700 Pro!)
Hi guys! I ended up meeting the Profitec team at SCAA, and they actually responded to my first impression which showed that slack in the knobs. Quite an embarrassing moment, because I don't feel my initial impression video showed the respect this machine is due! They said the slack in the wands can ...

Aillio Bullet R1 roasting machine
Hey guys, I can't believe I just heard about this roaster mid-SCAA weekend. My wife and I have been thinking about moving up from our Sonofresco to something bigger, but have also wanted to be able to do samples...so I eagerly bit the bullet (wow, I almost missed that unintentional pun) on the $1500...
