Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
July 13 update: well, the machine has been running for the past 5 days without tripping the GFCI. Before I reinstalled the shell, I checked the terminal block for any shorts/continuity between GND, neutral and load. That was fine. Moved wires to see if I could find the intermittent short, but nothin...

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
Yes...unplugged the machine when doing the resistance/continuity checks. Also checked the scale setting of the multimeter, so pretty sure of the measurement. Even switched to the continuity setting to reconfirm and it did beep. Spent the better part of the evening trying to troubleshoot. Disconnecte...

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
Thanks for all your tips, Pat. Unfortunately, I spoke too soon and this morning I woke to a tripped GFCI receptacle The Anita does works without the timer (no longer trips the GFCI socket when plugging in). Note that I neglected to say that I'm using a power strip that I plug the Anita

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
7/5/21 update. Did some continuity tests on the electrical cord for each prong (GND, neutral (white) and hot (black)). Appeared to be fine, but maybe I didn't move the cord enough to see if there were shorts. Remeasured the resistance between the heating elements and still 8.8 ohms. Emailed Chris Co...

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
Both my tester and GFCI socket have the manual test button. Is there another way to test the GFCI?

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
Unfortunately, I can't plug it in because it keeps tripping the GFCI. In those other posts, their Anita's ran fine even though the load and neutral were reversed. I also think the timer melting and the mis-wiring don't have anything to do with the GFCI tripping. There *was* some mineral deposits

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
GFCI is about 20 years old. However, it tested OK using those small cube shaped circuit testers you can buy at the home improvement stores that checks if you wired a socket correctly

Quickmill Anita tripping GFCI when first plugging in
Sorry....long background below to hopefully help troubleshooting. After "replacing my p-stat in early 2020", I had about a year of good performance. Due to working from home since March 2020 through today, the Anita has gotten a lot more use (basically on from 7am-4pm everyday. Starting in March/Apr...

Quick Mill Anita vacuum breaker valve problem? [solved]
Sorry...hadn't checked the HB web site for awhile. Thanks for the tip, Patrick. I'll be sure to check my reservoir for any cracks or look for any water drops and wonder where they come from. My machine mainly was used on the weekends. However, I"m glad I got it fixed during the shelter-in-place the ...

Quick Mill Anita vacuum breaker valve problem? [solved]
Confirmed it was the pressure stat that was bad. Ordered a new one from Chris Coffee (shout out to Dennis and other techs who answered my many questions and were very helpful). My original stat was a CEME, and they now how MA-TER but it was an easy swap. Hard part was removing the adapter fitting fr...
