Santoker

They constantly upgrade and change the machine, which would be great if they still supported the older models. For instance they don't offer the same thermocouples that came on my machine anymore(my 500 is one of there earliest). One of the many reason I stopped selling the machines is cause they wo...

[SOLD] Mazzer Espresso Grinder Grounds Tray

This is another piece of a grinder project I never finished. Its the catch tray to a Mazzer Major/Super Jolly/Kony. Makes cleaning up so much easier, and makes the grinder look that much better. There are some tiny scoff marks on the edges that sit under the grinder. Not very noticeable, but I figur...

[SOLD] Mazzer Major/Rober Doser Brand New!

Im selling a brand new Mazzer Major/Robur doser. It was for a project that I never completed, so its quite literally brand new. Most times when you find a used grinder the Hopper is both nasty and beat up. Heres a chance to make a old grinder like new again. Or you could even use this for parts. I p...

Some bits and pieces about filtration and refractometer measurement...

This is a great thread and I dont really have time to jump in full force, but I have a LOD scale. Its a mini oven with a halogen light the dehydrates what ever sample you put on the tray. The scale is accurate to the 10,000 of a gram. Ive compared vst readings vs LOD readings (For filter only)

[SOLD] Black Espresso Parts Tamper 58 MM

Im selling some of my extra gear, and one of the things I have to many of is tampers. This one is made by Espresso parts and feels absolutely amazing in your hand. The weight of it is perfect, and the width of the handle is thicker than most tampers so its easier to get a grip on it. The

[SOLD] La Marzocco portafilter with VST basket

Im selling a gently used La Marzocco portafilter with a brand new VST/Strada 21 gram basket. The portafilter was used for about a week in a shop before it was replaced with a bottomless one, so there are some minor dings in the brass. But all and all, its in pretty decent shape. For me this is the p...

First time in San Francisco

Sorry you didnt have a good experience in San Francisco, but I can assure you that Stanza Mission has never pre ground anything. I think what you mistook for "pre ground" coffee was the Barista weighing out the dry dose in a cup(which happens for every shot pulled), before weighing the liquid out. R...

Constant Stirring & Impact of Crust

All of Nick Cho's talk was pulled from the scaa brewing/cupping books. Including the hemi-celuous talk. The extraction percentage of a brew is based way more apon grind size and not time. About 4/5's happens in the first few seconds when the water first touches the grounds. But one thing that I thin...

Moisture % in Greens

I dont claim to have any secrets, since I'm so small(my company) Im really never dealing with old coffee. But ive had a couple opportunities to roast old coffees and compare them with current crops. One time for the sole purpose of trying to make old coffee taste good(for a roasting thing here in th...
