There is a company called Ferrari Espresso {link} in Wales that is an authorized Elektra dealer. It operates a postal repair service. I bought my machine from them and recently posted it back for repair. They also sell spares. Frank Ferrari is an obliging individual and if he does not have what you ...

Londinium I unstable brew temperature.

We've got data that contradicts claims made. What do we do about it? My suggestion is that we investigate. We need to know whether the data makes a difference in the cup. Taste is what sells coffee machines, I think

Londinium I unstable brew temperature.

I started this thread to canvass opinions and expose Andy Schechters findings to a wider audience. I did so in the hope that others would be similarly skilled and motivated to get to the bottom of the issue. In part this has proven successful, but like all inquiries it raises new questions that rema...

Londinium I unstable brew temperature.

I'd just like to say thanks to the contributors who, thus far, have developed the topic of this thread by measuring and thinking about the problem. I was really hoping this would happen. This collective effort is what makes forums, and particularly HB in this instance, powerful and effective. It's p...

Hi erics I'm not sure that you are measuring the same thing as Andy. I'm not great with this kind of thing but isn't Andy measuring temperatures relating to how the shot is pulled?

Londinium I unstable brew temperature.

Andy Schechter published some temperature readings on a UK coffee forum {link} which show that the Londinium has some pretty unstable temperatures and thus lead to some pretty poor shots. As I'm thinking of buying this machine I'd be interested if anyone else gets wayward temperatures

Upgrade from Eureka Mignon grinder to what?

I think you are, maybe, seeing something that is n't there. There is no problem as such. I don't get good shots and then bad shots. The problem, such as it is, is that I get good shots that are different to each other. That's what I mean by a lack of consistency. If asking for

Upgrade from Eureka Mignon grinder to what?

The HG One is interesting certainly. And although I could go for the K10, somehow I'm just not sure I would feel comfortable spending that much. On the other hand I would not want to upgrade to a Major and go meh at the result, so it's not easy. Also there seem to be issues when using

Upgrade from Eureka Mignon grinder to what?

Thanks for your reply. I had n't considered the progression in terms of burr sizes, so that's going to be useful in helping me to choose a replacement
