Astoria SAE2 CMA Argenta Pump/Pressure Issues... [Resolved]

Problem solved! After more reading, decided to take apart the pump again and do a descaling. Cleaned up very nicely with the 50/50 solution of water and white vinegar. The big discovery came when I realized the pressure screw had been disconnected from the spring and shaft that control the pressure....

Astoria SAE2 CMA Argenta Pump/Pressure Issues... [Resolved]

Chert I appreciate the quick reply! Yes, there is an external rotary pump, but it is properly connected to the inlet for the machine. Question: Is it at all possible that the pump is pumping the opposite direction? We have our water line connected to the inlet with the down (in) arrow and

Astoria SAE2 CMA Argenta Pump/Pressure Issues... [Resolved]

Merry Christmas y'all! I have a 1999 Astoria Argenta SAE/2N. So far I've hooked up power and plumbed it in. My manual boiler fill works. My autofill sensor works, too. When the boiler gets below a certain level, my rotary pump kicks on. However, when that happens the boiler does

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

For the sake of future searchers: Problem solved! The problem was the main power switch. Though most of the terminals on it were working, the one transferring power to the boiler element was faulty. $27 and a week later, rescue arrived from the state of Washington. A quick and easy install and she w...

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

ok, this was interesting. One of the SSR top wires read about 17 volts and the other read 2.5.... When I trace the wire at 17 volts, I am nearly positive it goes to this: {image} Not sure what that is, so I haven't gone to messing with it just yet.

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

Hmm... Same thing at both SSR top terminals. 16.5 Yea, the blue wire at the terminal read 0. The outlet is almost right at 120. Very strange

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

Eric, you've been amazing. I am reading 16.5 volts from the black wire that usually connects to the heating terminals. Am I right in guessing that means my element or terminals are shot?

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

Are you asking to open up the PID case and take a picture of the wiring for future re-wiring's sake? Or is there something we need to see inside there? A third option is that we need to see the wires and how they run from the back of the PID to the SSR? Here's one I

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

Thanks Eric that was helpful. I realized the problem. Here is my machine. Compare it with the pic you posted above. A few key differences, including the absence of those limit thermostats. {image} So, is that something that just must be hiding. I'm scouring the boiler and don't see anything

Older PIDed HX powers on, pumps, but no heat!

Update: Multimeter arrived, switched to continuity check, unplugged the machine, disconnected the wires from the thermal fuse and then measured. No beep, which means no continuity. Meter read about 23. Hopefully I did all that right. Based on that info, do I know the fuse is bad, or could it be the ...
