I am trying to restore an old Olympia Superclub, but am having some difficulty finding a control box for it. It is a Gicar box, but doesn't really have any numbers on it to help the search. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know your machine. Is it a regular automatic or semiauto kind of fella? Could you post a pic? I am sure we can dig up a gicar catalogue number for you.

Here is a link to a machine just like the one that I am trying to restore. This one sold on Ebay a while back but I have 2 just like it trying to make one, but both control boxes are inop.

Is the keypad integrated into the control box or is there ribbon cable running to another box?

Two candidates from the gicar catalogue that would suit:

The one I have is similar to the first one but I also have a separate block box, but they are connected by regular wire terminals and not a ribbon strip. The keypad had 6 wire terminals on it and my black box has 13 on it. The problem I am having is that the boiler overfills, but not all the time. Sometimes it will run for a few hours with no problems, and other times it overfills all day long. I tried using my other black box but it has a separate issue that it auto dispenses as soon as you turn the machine on.

continuous filling - did you try cleaning the probe? A dirty probe is a common cause of this. To clean, remove from boiler and descale using hot water and citric acid.

Yep I have cleaned it. Also checked for continuity through the probe and wiring and all checked good.

I want to thank Paul for his time trying to help me, but I am still in need of where to get a one of the black control boxes for this machine. It is one of the black Gicar boxes with 13 terminals on it. 8 on one side, 5 on the other. The machine was manufactured in 1990 if that help.

hi ray,

one last little comment; if you cannot find a direct replacement, don't fear. Use a generic replacement. Assuming your machine has a standard setup of inputs and outputs then this will not be hard. I'll shut up now and let others comment :D
