I need to replace the glass tube that shows the water level on the side of the Europiccola machine. I have a new tube and it looks an easy enough task but I just can't figure it out! Anybody has had to do to? Would really appreciate any input. Thanks!

A couple of questions.

Is the old sight glass broken or cracked or is it leaking?

Are you planning to replace the seals for the sight glass?

make sure you have new compressions seals (little rubber rings that are compressed when you turn the nuts at each end of the sight glass. Do not follow the advice on the sight dedicated to pavoni maintenence that suggests removing both mounting points, using wood blocks to aline etc....way too much trouble and replacing the sight galss does not require opening the bottom of the boiler.
1.remove the top flat trim screw
2.loosen the 2 compression nuts.
3. pull out the old glass tube through the top hole where you remove the flat trim screw.
4. install the new tube through the hole
5. put on new comp seals and nuts
6.tighten carefully, not too much.
7. power up see if it leaks.
8. if it leaks, POWER DOWN!!!!, BLEED OF THE PRESSSURE!!!! AND wHEN THERE IS NO MORE PRESSURE TIGHTEN THE COMP NUTS A BIT.
>>>>>DO NOT TIGHTEN THE COMPRSSION NUTS ON THE SIGHT TUBE WHEN THE MACHINE IS UNDER PRESSURE!!!!!>>>>>>>>>IFYOU DO YOU RISK IT CARCKING AND BLOWING HOT HOT HOT STEAM INTO YOUR FACE!!!!>>>>>(along with bits of glass for good measure).
9.repeat 7. and 8. until you have a good seal.
10. Make yourself a nice shot.
