Do you mean the 1EL? If so, Teme started a discussion of it in this thread.

I think you are referring to the "special edition" or "anniversary edition" ER-8 / EO-8 (Europiccola) and PO-16 / PR-16 lever machines. Technically they are identical to the existing line-up of the La Pavoni lever machines. The only difference is the "Citrus Orange" base of the models that carry the "O" suffix and "Rally Red" base in the "R" suffix models. I took the pictures today at a local shop and I personally do not like the colour scheme of the special editions too much - the "regular" all chrome version (not pictured) looks better to me...

The first thing I noticed when I scrolled down to your photos (Teme) is the funky cartoon painted car outside the window, the front and rear hubcaps are even different. You must have some interesting cars in Denmark.

What kind of grinder is that on the right? I believe I have seen you mention the brand before. That looks like a large glass hopper on top, did not think anyone other than KitchenAid still used glass.

Hi David,

The grinder is a Quick Mill. Yes, the same company that builds the Andreja and yes, the hopper is made of glass. The specs are not too impressive, though. A bit more info here.

The car on the background is a Mercedes C-class Taxi (or Cab if you like). Not in the best of shapes as the non-matching hubcaps show...

Oh yes - a nice blog you have there :-)

A C-class taxi, now that is just wrong. Here in the states you use a Ford or Chevrolet, not a Merc. That would be like getting a one group Linea so the wife can heat water for tea.

Glad you like the blog, just started it so I have a lot of work I want to do. Working on some custom graphics for the background and header. Two crossed, dirty, portafilters laying over a knock box with some spent pucks in it (think of the jolly roger, skull and cross bones but with portafilters and a knock box).

Surprise surprise! Pavoni was up to something after all. I can't wait to see this one. From what little was shown in the preview it did look like the grouphead was larger / heavier than the current pavonis and finished in brushed steel instead of chrome. Interesting...

i think it isn't about the orange based version of old models..........

Like everyone else I can't wait to learn what they've done. I suppose whilst we wait we should ask what do we want it to bring, especially given it's teasing one-liner of waiting 35 years. If it turns out be a sveltely shaped but no great shakes machine then it's very nice but I'll stick with my Europiccola which is more retro looking.

However, if that group indicates some clever trickery that allows one to pull shot after shot and handle the party that one currently needs something like an HX machine for then yes please.

Let's hope there's more to it than a mere facelift and elevated pricing.

i think that this new machine would be an occasion for collectionists, but i don't believe that they increased functionality and espresso taste...(if it is possible)......

John, you should look at the gaggia achille... it is supposedly an HX lever, with continuous water feed (no more boiler refills).

About the same price as a home HX/e61 - but currently only available across the pond!
