Wilfa has apparently made a grinder that is turning heads. James Hoffmann has reviewed it on his channel:
It costs 105 GBP and looks to be a serious competitor even against more expensive baratza grinders. Does anyone else here have personal experience with this grinder and know if it's possible to get in the states? I sent an email to Williams-Sonoma asking if it would be possible that they had one sitting around or could get more (doubt I will get an answer).

The grounds bin would be the deal breaker for me.

And, if the grind is no better than a Baratza Encore, I dont see the point. If its better than the encore, another story.
I drink two shots before I drink two shots, then I drink two more....

I was just scrolling through the youtube comments when I saw that Hoffmann had posted about 20 minutes ago that a baratza vs wilfa comparison review would come this week (not sure if he is recording this week or posting this week). Based on some other comments, I'd expect a particle distribution analysis as well from the baratza vs wilfa video.

Specs here if anyone wants more info.

Has to be better than an Encore for larger grinds. My experience with the Encore for drip \ P.O.etc. was not positive. YMMV.
I've had much better grind results (-retention) with the Capresso Infinity stainless steel body.

Anyway this is designed by Tim Wendelboe and the word is he's bought the farm

Looks like all they did was slap the Wilfa name on a Breville

But the Breville can grind for espresso... but yes... good eye, re-branded machine... maybe different burrs.

I stopped the video when he said it did not worked for espresso...

I doubt it can actually grind for espresso as others said it can't at least for a regular unpressurized basket, burrs and everything look same to me as Wilfa, just relabeled. Weird though, Wilfa isn't my thing, but their stuff seems to have a certain simple design look to it... and this grinder looks like a mini garbage can or paper shredder lol, kinda against their design philosophy.

It could be the other way around? Breville is based on Wilfa design? The Breville grinder is from 2007.

The new model with the improved motor, CGWS-130B just came out and the previous one WSCG-2 is also fairly new. The previous one to that was CGR-1 which I 'm not sure when it came out. There's nothing comparable available from Breville to WSCG-2 nor CGWS-130B.

The Breville is propably older then the Wilfa, Wilfa where released around late 2010 early 2011 I think.

But that dos not mean Breville is the manufacture, there are allot of facturies producing consumer electronics for many well known brands.
