The fittings that I have used are just regular air hose or pneumatic quick connect. Not sure of the brands that you guys have over in the States but Ryco is a popular brand that comes to mind.

With regards to the pump that comes with the Linea and just sucking out of a jerry container, well that should work fine. The issues you will encounter are priming the line on first use, and how to deal with an airlock during use.

The airlock issue is a real pita because it invariably always happens when you are busy and when the water runs low in the container. It's not quick or easy to fix.
