Mine arrived today. Some quick impressions:
This is the "new generation" Stagg, version 1.2. This version addresses some coments people had about the previous version. The enhancements are for all versions (copper finish, polished, black), not just the copper finish.
- the lid is now stainless steel instead of injection-molded plastic. Gravity holds it in place, and, due to the design, gravity does the job. The thermometer is also a gravity fit, and works just fine.
- the pouring tip is now "fluted" - there is now just a hint of a lip at the end of the gooseneck. This eliminates a criticism of the original Stagg - that at extremely slow pour rates the water would back-flow (see video at Prima Coffee Stagg page). The new design works just fine at very slow pours.
- there are a couple fit and finish improvements in the new version as well, full details of the changes at Fellow's blog.

I'm not used to such a "big" kettle - the Stagg has a 1 litre boiling capacity - but it sure pours nice 8) .
