I would be cautious when soldering a liquid filled gauge due to the heat causing the liquid to expand.
Make sure you at least wrap the gauge with a wet rag and keep the heat directed only at the brass fitting.

Great advise. I will absolutely do that. I was practicing with the old gauge and it does heat up pretty quick.
