I've discovered all sorts of problems with Andreja after descaling. Vacuum breaker spitting water everywhere and bare wires inside and the limit breaker had burnt out sometime ago... thought that scale was an issue but was ignorant. I'm exceedingly grateful for the search button & your postings!
So. I'm attempting to remove the part of the vacuum breaker that was 'glued' to the boiler (read in another thread that an impact wrench is the way to go here Burst of steam from Andreja Premium during warmup), but I can't find anything about that rusty cup. Is it attached to the bottom of the vacuum breaker or attached to the top of the boiler? How does it come off? I will be upgrading to the new vacuum breaker w/cap http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/hom ... eakervalve so won't need that cup.

Vacuum cup is held in place by the nut/pipe combo (in center of cup) that you use the impact wrench on.
Now have to figure out how to get heating element out.

With the same ADJUSTABLE impact wrench and a 1-1/2" six point socket. Now have to figure out how to get heating element out.
A more "configuration friendly" vacuum breaker (and also about $15 more) is this one available from Espresso Parts: http://www.espressoparts.com/MZ_544
You would use just the top half as the bottom has 1/8"-G threading as opposed to the Andreja's 1/4-G threads.
