How to date a Bezzera BZ99s?

I think I already did it but I'll ask anyway. I obtained this BZ from a deceased estate house lot. The pump has the date "10/2002". So I am assuming the machine is circa this date but pumps can be replaced. The machine looks hardly used and is in extraordinarily fine condition. Needs a new group gasket is all.
The serial no. is 44187. I always thought the last numbers were the date of manufacture but I doubt it in this case.

I have no specific knowledge of Bezzera's numbering scheme, but if the pump was replaced, the machine could be the 441st unit manufactured in 1987.DJF wrote:The serial no. is 44187. I always thought the last numbers were the date of manufacture but I doubt it in this case.
