I wondered if anyone else would notice that. Highland Park single malt, looks like a 25 year. You could get a few pounds of coffee for that bottle.

I did notice the scotch. Unfortunately prices have gotten so high here the US that my consumption of single malts has dwindeled to a mere trickle as the age has progressively gotten younger :(

Yup, that's my second passion also (maybe even bigger than espresso !  ). I don't have the means for 40 bottles, but I do have some 20 very beautiful maltwhiskies . And you know what? They combine beautifully with espresso (okay, and a good Cuban sigar,..... and dark chocolate :D : That makes me really happy).
So, a 25 yr. Highland Park,....... I can only wonder.......

I just finished off a bottle of 18 year Highland Park last night. It is a beautiful malt, and a somewhat affordable and viable alternative to that wonderous 25 year our friend has. Highly recommended!!!!

You can also notice on the picture, I have a Chivas 25 Year (which is a special edition).

Talking about finishing a bottle, last week end I finished a bottle of Macallan 1980 Gran Reserva. I almost cried after I finished my glass (I can't find another bottle)...

I spend a fortune on Scotch... If you think coffee is an expensive passion...

Maybe we can migrate this thread into a "post a picture of your cellar/bar" :-) I can't wait to drink all of the wine I have sitting around waiting for it's time!

Try custom straight razors (I restore and use them). A Maestro Livi or a Zowada both in Damascus will set you back a few bottles, or boxes of cigars, but we are getting a bit off topic at this point.

That's OK, after 35 years in the wine trade, wine and spirits aren't off-topic for me, either.

Just got my 1989 vintage Olympia Cafferex back from its "restoration" -- all new gaskets, and the replacement of a cracked (and leaking) 3-way solenoid. Everything's not yet "put together" -- a new grinder is on its way so I can bring my QM doserless back home, as is a new knockbox (the previous knockbox was actually the drawer in the Gaggia tray holding the Coffee Gaggia and MDF) -- so more pictures later.

Cheers,
Jason

Nice looking machine. I have only had the opportunity to use the Olympia Cremina and was impressed by its build. I got the distinct impression that you could almost park a car on top of it without bending the frame. Sturdy little box and it pulled a very nice shot.

The Caffarex looks awesome! But it sounds like it is not in your home ... shouldn't you be posting this in the "office espresso setup" thread? :D

Hi espresso addicts,

I am from Switzerland and in NYC since last Saturday and for the next 3 months...
Couldn't be without... so I bought a new equipment (to be sold before I leave!). See picture attached!
The combination of the Mini Vivaldi II and the Mazzer Mini Electronic is just awesome...

All the best

Grüess aus Bern.

Wow, that's one hell of a nice temporary setup! You're going to make someone very happy when it comes time to leave NYC.

A quick question. Where do you buy your coffee beans back in CH/Zürich? I've tried a several different roasters but I'm not entirely satisfied with their beans. Any recommendations?

Definitely like the Competition setup. I didn't realize the Mini wasn't so mini! My K30 is huge for my counter under the cabinets - the Dalla Corte would never fit!

Yeah, at 50 cm the Super Mini is definitely the tallest machine I've owned, but it fits that narrow section of bench perfectly.
I'ts only 40 cm deep.

Sweet setup, I like that tall knockbox (looks like you could knock for weeks and weeks). I also like the Super Mini's espresso cup shelf. Didn't realize it had that. That looks like soem very tall cup clearance without the shelf.

The Dalla Corte Mini is much shorter at less than 14 inches tall, the Super Mini is almost 20 inches tall. The DC Super Mini has the HW tap, the DC Mini does not, which is the giveaway when you see a picture of one.
