Back!

Here's my home setup: a La Valentina (with my Frabosk cups on top); Mazzer Mini and QuickMill doserless/stepless grinders; and tamper, stand and knockbox by Bumper.

In addition, I just got my hands on a "new" (1989) Olympia Caffarex for my office. It's at home now, having undergone some cosmetic cleaning; final prep work this weekend, and I hope to have it in the office by Monday.

Deal! I'm usually driving a truck fulla stuff, but I'd stop in to chat and play with your LM toys. Which LM 4, if I may be so bold?

... afraid, i saw a very, very similar setup somewhere in this thread. cheers teme

just switched to this gs/3. had a e61 legend before which was permanently located in the cellar - just too big for a kitchen. traded in the legend for another upcoming legend: the gs/3 which replaced the formerly kitchen standing la cimbali junior dt/1.

ausgesichnet, Herr bassato! Love the lack of clutter and everything is so clean and shiny. Nice contrast to the beautiful wood grain in the background.

I don't think this is eye opening or anything, but just bought this about a week or so ago and gotta say that I'm loving it so far.

When people ask what the GS/3 has that the LaSpaz don't have?, I'll be tempted to answer think 3-5-8 years ahead and link to the picture of bernies nice machine:

It is posted in another thread, or two. But I just had to gloat post. Can you see the espresso machines through the forest of grinders? But alas, they are not all my machines, just loaners for testing.

A lot of GS3's showing up, but I have also noticed none of them are in the USA. I wonder who will be the first to drop the bloated $8000 for one.

Very nice setup, bassato!
That kit is so inviting to walk up, pull a double and walk away with the puck still smoking in the knockbox... 8)

Theres a challenge for you - first person to build a wooden espresso machine wins a prize!

Nuova Simonelli made a machine called the "yacht club" edition or something, but it has wooden paneling with large round glass "portholes" to view the insides. came in a variety of finishes and looked VERY cool.

First GS3 Setup

Link to "Post a pic of your home espresso setup..."by roblumba on Wed Jan 16, 2008 8:48 am

I'm in the U.S. and should be either picking up or seeing delivery of my GS3 either tomorrow or the following day(s). It's sitting in the store at Pacific Espresso in Santa Cruz, CA. It actually came in on Monday, but Tim, who will be setting it up and training his staff and then training me, is in San Diego and will not be back in town until Wednesday. So I'm patiently waiting. Well, mostly patient and sometimes anxious. ;)

I'll post some photos soon. I'll try to get some good closeups and new creative shots for you all. In fact, I can guarantee I'll have a gallery on my website soon. BTW, the price I received I was told is supposedly a special price for those in the first seats of the waiting list. At first it was $6800, but since others were getting $6500, I asked if he could match it and he graciously matched $6500.

GS3 Setup

Here's a batch of photos I took today. I'll probably take some more with naked portafilter once it arrives and I get the hang of it.

I've now pulled the LM 4 Linea out of the shop and replaced it with the original 2group LM Linea which has been upgraded to a PID'd unit. Hoping to put dual PID's on the 4group this summer. We have plenty of parking at the shop for trucks up to 80' or so. Ignore the signs that say "No Overnight Truck Parking". Just let me know when you are coming through.

I have relatives in Guam and Rota. They are mainly the Atalig's and Maglonia's. My uncle Vince actually flew into the states to get a liver transplant and is now at Stanford hospital recovering. A flood of other relatives came to visit also.

Hope you like the red rice and soy sauce with lemon and onions (finadeni) and some red peppers. Pair that with any grilled meat and you have the perfect meal. ;)
