Hi All -

I have a 4 year old Pavoni Pro which seems to have almost stopped delivering water to the group. When pulling with no filter on (and making very sure I have lifted all the way to the top) only a very small amount of water comes out of the shower. I don't really know how the delivery mech works, but the lever seems to not lift quite as smoothly as it once did (but I might be searching for that!) - I assume there must be some sort of piston between the boiler and the group? Is there anyway I can clean this out?

Also, I have looked for a resource/FAQ on the web for issues with the Pavoni but have been unsuccessful, anybody have any recs, or are forums the best?

Thanks very much!

There are usually two culprits here. 1) The piston of the Pavoni screws onto the lever shaft. Over time I have seen these unscrew themselves and the piston will drop down and cover the water inlet hole. To fix you can simply remove the grouphead pop off the dispersion screen and then screw it back on. I think all the steps are in one of my early posts where I show how to replace the gaskets. "Refeathering the Peacock". 2) If you have taken the arm off, one of the common mistakes is to put it back on upside down. The handle holes are slightly offset...thus if they go on upside down then they will not lift the piston to the point of fully clearing the inlet hole. Thus it is important to watch the orientation of the handle when removing it. I would also take the time to give your dispersion screen a good cleaning and possibly replace the piston gaskets. After 4 years, I am sure they need it.

There are a couple older sites that have good information on the Pavoni, but we have a great group of owners out here who can help you with about anything that comes up. Thanks for joining.

There are several places to buy parts for these but I've bought them from a local place in Arlington, TX. There website is http://www.sreweb.com/careri.htm. Ask for Bill.

They may be great folks but that is about the least informative website I've ever tried to use. But thanks!

I would try one of our sponsors: http://espressoparts.com/category/03.02.lapavoni/

I think you can call them if you want a full kit, or just order the parts you need. I think I had a list in my post about doing a gasket job on the Pavoni.
