Of course I read this after reassembling the machine tonight. :( Oh well, Jim will find out soon enough.

Been a while since I've been around here.... But I was interested as I have a VBM Double coming, and it's supposedly supposed to be here Friday! WooHoo!

With the caveat that it works as designed, and VBM's reputation speaks volumes, I obviously though this was a hands down winner, especially when you include price, features, and ascetics. Granted, it's a bit of a gamble as it's a new machine, but VBM, by all accounts I've found, appears to be rock solid. So I gambled.

The decision was easy for me... I really wanted a double boiler machine. PID was a bonus, and I wanted that too... Looks, fabulous. The gamble is only because it's a "rev 1" machine.

It's really not as bad as it's made out to be. So far the 'spro I've pulled with it has been delectable, and I made a latte last night without any issue. I'm betting that with such a short recovery time (about 60 seconds), I won't even notice that the steam is coming and going. I'd even wager that a different tip might make this thing sing a much different tune. You won't be disappointed - it really works great and is beautiful! :-)
