Olympia Cremina 67 steamer and group head repair

Is there someone in the Calgary, AB area that can help me repair a Cremina 67? I'm not very mechanically gifted; but I need to replace the steamer gasket and lubricate the group head. I have the gasket and the lubricant.

Are you talking about the grouphead to portafilter gasket? Or the piston seals for the piston in the grouphead? Or are you saying that you have the gasket or ring seals for the steam tap assembly?

The grouphead gaskets are recent and are fine. I need to lubricate the grouphead because it's difficult to lift the piston. Also, the steamer gasket needs replacing. I have a complete set of Cremina gaskets and a tube of food grade high temperature lubricant. What I need is some hands on assistance.

Thanks! I was hoping to find a repair shop in Calgary,AB Canada. Shipping accross the border involves dealing with customs. I've had some difficulties in the past.

The Olympia Cremina is much like the Mercedes Benz diesel.....it invites the DIY'er to do just that, do it yourself. The service you mention seems easily undertaken, a bit of lube on the steam valve o-ring, and you can always just lay the machine on its back, raise the lever, remove the shower screen, and lube her up. The machine is designed to be maintained, even easier is the Elektra MCAL. They made the machine to last forever and part of the equation for longevity is the ease of maintenance.....maybe this is why Olympia Express seems to have no authorized service facilities...they think they don't need them.

How would you remove the screen?

Take off: the grouphead ... the nuts at the top of the piton shaft. pull the pins that connect the lever to the piston shaft and grouphead. Then turn the grouphead over and on a hard but unabrasive surface (block of wood)push down on the top of the piston shaft until the piston is in contact with the screen, then you can pop out the screen by applying the same kind of force to the top of the piston shaft, with a jolt. The idea is to pop off the screen.
