I just picked up a new Pavoni Stradivari lever machine today. I pulled one shot successfully and while pulling the second encountered too much pressure. The portafiltre blew off straight away and now I can't seem to get it to engage on the machine.

Clearly I'm gutted by this. Does any have any ideas of what might have happened and how to fix it?

Check if the grouphead gasket is still in place, or reinsert it with the portafilter without a basket in it.
