New steam tip for Quickmill Anita?

Has anyone tried either the Pasquini 4 Hole Steam Tip from Chris Coffee or the Marzocco 4 Hole Steaming Tip from Great Infusions? Specifically, I'm looking for someone who has used one of these tips on a machine roughly equivalent to the Quickmill Anita, so most any E61-type HX machine would probably be comparable. I'm not interested in a two-hole cheater tip like the "Gold Pro". I want something with plenty of velocity to make the milk move, and my beef with the stock tip on my machine (the one with ridges that was supposedly the "new Isomac tip") is that the two holes are angled too far apart. Thanks!

I haven't tried those tips with my Anita, but I have recently gotten the La Spaziale Vivaldi steam arm with the four hole tip, which bolts right on to the late model Anitas. It's very powerful, though it's harder to make microfoam with the new tip because it steams very fast. I would imagine the other four hole tips would be even faster, since they seem to have pretty large steam holes.

And there's the rub. I guess I should have mentioned I have one of the older Anitas so it doesn't have the newer arms or valves or whatever. I saw the other thread about the Spaz arm and checked it on Chris Coffee, but looks like it would ONLY work with the newer models. Thanks, though! :)

I took this really low res video of the Anita blowing a ton of steam with our Marzocco tip...

Awesome! Thanks, Sebastian. Can you tell me what the boiler pressure is set at on that Anita so I can compare it to mine?

Wow, that's impressive. So Anita was able to hold a decent boiler pressure even after blowing all that steam? I didn't think she'd be able to sustain that kind of pressure with so much steam being vented. I still wonder if it would be hard to make good microfoam, but I guess if people can do it on commercial machines, it's possible with Anita too.

Makes me want to try the stock Vivaldi tip on my Anita. I've got one, but I haven't used it because I figured it would dump steam too fast from the boiler, plus it would be hard to get good mircofoam. Hmmm.

I've seen her recover during steaming with the stock tip to the point where the heating element switches back off because the pressurestat has reached it's upper setting. I'm not surprised that she has that much power. I'm not certain that I need or want that much power, but it's alluring. The microfoam from my local cafe using a LM tip is better than mine. Hmmm... Maybe I can try the same tip?

It's a pretty cheap upgrade. I say try it and see if you like it. Then again, I have about five or six different steam tips in my spare parts drawer, so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.

I'm taking the liberty to post this here as well, in the hopes that it'll be seen by more eyes.

I'm trying to figure out why my Anita looks like this, rather than it does in the video Sebastian posted.

I'm even running at a higher boiler pressure of 1.3 BAR.

Hi Sebastian. I own an Anita too and I would like to improve its steaming capability. Would you mind specifying the tip you have (brand maybe). But more so, would you mind sending me a picture of how the holes are arranged? Are the holes as big as from the original tip?

regards,

Ron

Turns out the tip from a new steam wand on an Elektra (a 4 hole job) will fit on Anita. You'll have to be patient and I'll tell you how it goes tomorrow morning. 8) The older style Elektra tip does not fit (and I wasn't about to force it).

Hell, if the A3 restore doesn't work I've been thinking about retrofiting the whole Elektra steam valve assy on the Anita :P

Yep, as expected Anita can steam like a locomotive with the Elektra steam tip. Mind you, it goes pretty fast (I didn't time it) and I didn't end up with nice silky smooth milk. Time to brush up on technique.

SylvainMtl: I've an extra steam wand from my Elektra rebuild that I'd be more than glad to exchange for your A3 (in any shape). :D

Mike, it looks like something is wrong with your Anita. I have no burn steam wand, that Chris sells as an optional upgrade for Anita (the same wand that goes standard on Andreja Premium and Vetrano). The tip has only 2 holes but the steam coming out of it looks more like on Sebastian's video. After about a month of practice I am making a really nice microfoam with a stock 1.2 boiler pressure.

Yes, turns out my valve was failing and clogging up... why-cant-anita-steam-as-well-as-her-sister-machines-t7170-20.html#p84661

Kudos to Chris for the diagnosis!
