The next time you log on, you will be greeted with this message:
"Profiles now include a new 'real name' field and the location is a required field. Would you please fill yours in?" Studies have shown that an online community is more friendly if members can use "real" names. It is only displayed in your public profile; if you like, you can also add your real name to your signature (see below). In the same vein, location is now a required field.
A new optional field, "equipment," can be helpful when responding to someone's question. And to those who have their equipment squeezed into their signature -- live it up! You've got more room.
