I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but are there others in New England who ever get together? I would like to improve my skills and while looking at videos and reading are worthwhile I think working in person with someone who has a different skill set would be worthwhile for all involved.

So far as I know, there are very few organized "get togethers" in the New England area. There are occasional coffee tastings in the Boston area (the best place to find info about those are either on the Cambridge/Boston blogs or on the North East section of CoffeeGeek). That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we could drum up some interest for some small get togethers.
I won't be back in Boston till August, but if you PM me, I can give you the e-mails of a few friends who might be interested (and who are in Somerville over the summer)
