Ok...my Brewtus has been running on a rectangular steam boiler for a couple of months now and I thought it might be about time for a more traditional configuration...the rectangular unit works superb but I need a little more space inside...so here is the shell for the new unit.

Material: 321 SS
Volume: 4.8 L

The current rectangular boiler (5 L) has 2X1000W elements with element #2 being prioritized with the brew heater, yes, the PID tuning is a bit tricky.

The new unit will be 1200W with an HX for brew preheat.

Yes...It is a tight fit...but it WILL fit.

Just perfect for when that unexpected party of 20 drops by.

Actually I appreciate the the thought -- a friend of mine has the brewtus, and my thought was that this machine was close to perfect, if only I could give it a few tweaks ...

I have a feeling that Sean's brewtus, when he's all done with it, will need to be put into Milan's central railway station to feel at home.

But it's not about the use, just about having the perfect espresso machine. In a year's time, on the dusty mainstreet of some one horse town, the GS3 with it's final tweaks at one end, and Sean's brewtus at the other. Anyone care to run the book?

There is a method to my madness;

when friends visit they all seem to want Caps and steaming is not the Brewts' strong point.

I am also refining a couple other things and needed some capacity.

last night I wound up taking an extra 30mm off the height for some additional clearance, that still leaves me north of 4L....

Hey, Sean:

By any chance are you trying to open up enough room for a rotary pump???

not really, there is already room enough for that at the moment, I need a bit of room for a mix valve that experienced some volume creep from the drawing board to the bench.
