Hi all

From what i read on the forums, i gather that la pavoni don't make a naked portafilter for their lever machines. Does anyone know of a way to get hold of one? I realize there are instructions on this site for making your own, but i don't have access to the necessary tools... if anyone knows how or where to get one it would be greatly appreciated - alternatively i'd be happy to pay whatever is necessary if someone is able to make one for me!

many thanks

Espresso Parts will chop a PF for you. A machinist friend of mine will do the same for a bit less (see links here and here).

And John's friend does great work! I had him cut the bottom out of a spare pf for my Gaggia Factory. I just received the pf back two days ago and it looks factory-perfect (bad pun only semi-intended) - very pleased.

I just made my own, it is actually pretty easy and much cheaper. All you need is a screwdriver, hole saw, clamp, gloves, and safety glasses.

Hi Sam!

if you have a premillenium model, that there's option to buy beautiful naked pf from Richard (last days to decide).

Check the thread:
interested-in-49mm-bottomless-portafilters-group-buy-t7079.html
There is information and links to the use of the PF. It does work well with the pre-millenium 49mm LaPav machines and many others.
If I may be of service, let me know!
Sincerely
Richard
PS, Elektra MiCal deep baskets work great in a bottomless on a LaPav. ~ 16grams of grind+ There is a depth problem in most Pre-millenium portafilters, some Cremina baskets may fit the old portafilters.
