A very basic question: Is clogging normal after about 4 months of normal home use?

I have had my Macap for about 4 months and I have never cleaned the burrs. It clogged this morning and I wanted to know if this was normal for this quality of grinder? If so, how often should I disassemble and clean the burrs? If not, is there anything I can try to unclog the machine? Thanks in advance for answering such a basic question. :)

I don't know that I would consider it normal to clog, but I try to get into my grinder(s) every month or two. I suspect it is going to depend on the beans you use, how oily they are and whether or not the grinds chute is cleared on a regular basis (or at least once in awhile).

In your case, see Cleaning the burrs of a Macap M4 Stepless Grinder from the Espresso Gear FAQs and Favorites.

Thanks Jeff! I do clean the chute daily but now I know how often to open it up and clean the burrs. I will follow the tutorial you provided. :D

If you use dark oily beans, clogging with any grinder can be a problem. I sweep out the chute on all my grinders after use.
