Hello,

I would like to request LMWDP #185

I grew-up in San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Area, I believe I started drinking coffee at 11 (with honey and steamed milk). The first espresso machine I knew and loved was my parents stove-top Atomic (which I later destroyed in college).
In 1983, my parents bought an Olympia Cremina, which is now mine, after years of waiting and begging. When it arrived last week, I learned that the gaskets are in need of replacing, and the chrome needs a good cleaning where it has been leaking from the piston. I am not pulling shots like I know I should be able to, but I am learning so much on this list.
I don't own a Porsche, but I have been very close twice now. It is only a matter of time.

True, but we're a lot cheaper. Not to worry, it's on my to-do list.

...#187 for me please... I didn't mean to start a new message strand with my request... that is what happens when you are surfing coffee forums instead of actually working... part of the affliction/ obsession.... ha!

I don't know if anyone noticed that H-B's Dan is in the throws of giving us a newer version of this H-B Web Site. If I remember anything about new software he is busier than a Barista after church! So hang on folks, he will get numbers for us after he satisfies the needs of all of us..well maybe.... most of us....
Cheers

Are you folks still accepting members into this club?

I recently picked up a La Pavoni Europiccola and have been enjoying it ever since. It was a little frustrating at first but after a little time and patience I'm starting to see decent results. It has now become my machine of choice when I'm making single drinks. I only fire up the Silvia when I have people over.

The lever machine really is a beautiful device. Simple yet elegant. I wish I had purchased one sooner. I'll post some pics later on.

Thanks! Just in the process of descaling my machine. Not sure when the last time the previous owner had done so but I think it's been a while. I rane two boilerfuls of water and citric acid through it and the water was coming out a greenish colour with some small black chunks. Hmm, tasty. :(

Just running some clean water through it now and will pull a shot after that. Hopefully things will taste even better after this. I don't see how they could taste any worse.

Rinse -Rinse - you might even throw in some baking soda in to neutralize any acid hiding in a corner!!
