Please list me on the LMWDP list.
I have had my Elektra Micro Casa a Leva for 13 years and it has served me daily and well.
My story is as many others. I found my love of espresso when travelling in Europe, even though I'm from Seattle, not all of us found it corporately.
With both of us working and a young son in 2nd grade, not long after our return from Europe we bumped into a Swedish opare that had lost her job. When she moved in to watch our son, she couldn't imagine we didn't own an espresso machine and that's when i got my first Gaggia Brevetti (circa 1984).
It worked great but after a couple of pumps and rebuilds (over 10 years) we were looking for a new machine and found the Leva at a charity auction.
How could I not fall in love with this masterpiece? It had the base, travel box and the Elektra coffee grinder. We bid until it hurt, having never seen one before, and took it home. This was in 1995. We added a LaPavoni for the motorhome several years later (1998) and have been lever people since.
Recently the Elektra has been dripping from the group head and I seem to recall taking it to a local repair shop a few years back. They really didn't do much other than clean it and say there weren't any parts needed.
Procrastination came to a head the other day and I got on here to research a rebuild/reseal. Thank goodness for this site. I ordered and received new seals from 1st Line and installed them last night. Oh my, like new again. Thank you to all that post the great info here on the entire range of subjects and research, it was a big help.
So hopefully the Elektra will serve us another 13 years, but I imagine it will get resealed before then. I'll post a pic of the auction find.
Dripless in Seattle,
Roger
