I am so happy to hav found this thread. I hav to tell you that I hav learned a great deal in just watching the video's...some latte art I already do better than..most I don't, but the technique is so hard to absorb from mere text, that the video shows with such ease ('a picture is worth a thousand words' sort of thing..) and makes an hour's worth of reading come together in just a few minutes.
I am even absorbing some of the technique in dosing as I still hav problems with ~some~ of my pours. I hav owned an Expobar Brewtus II and a Mazzer Mini grinder for alnmost a year now. I keep wondering what I'm doing wrong and hav read (at exhaustive length!) about dosing, etc on how to get 'less watery' and more consistent pours, and I see some things in the video's on how to dose into the portafilter that I will be trying, so Thank you for including that part in your vid's.
One question; I see some tamping twice and yet I hav read about only tamping once (and only once! with the exclamation point! lol) so was wondering about that. Any information truly appreciated, but again I hav read a LOT on many threads about dosing, clumping, tamping, etc so I had resigned myself to 'just settle' for what I am currently getting in my pours, but I am anxious to do far better. (If I could hav 4 pure, perfect ristretto's every A.M. I would be Happy). Again, THANKS for this thread...it's terrific!
