La Spaziale MX good grinder for la Pavoni

A haven dedicated to lever espresso machine aficionados.

Hello World!

I've been lurking for a while but decided to jump in since I found this thread and could no longer control the itch to get an espresso machine.

Anyway, the La Spaziale MX grinder appears to be a re-badged MACAP M4 or MX. Lever machines are, apparently, demanding with regards to the grind and tamp and these grinders don't have stepless adjustments. So, are these grinders usable with La Pavoni Pro or Elektra MC a Leva?

Thanks all!

Welcome aboard. I'll have the other guys jump in here with there comments, but I think that you can use a stepped grinder fine with a lever machine. My primary grinder is a Rocky and it does fine. The only time that have fallen between the notches on it was with the Elektra MC. I find on the Pavonis that you can adjust the pull to compensate for a grind that is too tight or save a pull that is going wrong. With the spring loaded machines...once you release the lever, it is all up to the machine. I think I have to fiddle with my grinder and technique a bit more with the MC but a stepped grinder still does fine.

Thanks Steve.

I can only find ONE espresso machine (steam toys aside...) dealer in town and they sell Faema and La Spaziale. The La Pavoni dealer, 500 miles to the north, doesn't carry lever machines (commercial and combo units only) but he's willing to sell on indent.

Incidentally, saw a Olympia Cremina 67 (I think) on sale at Ebay by NJauctions for $700 or so. It was located in the motors section...

You may want to check the internet...there are several good dealers out there. I ordered my almost 10 years ago directly from Italy and it made it over in good shape. Just do a search and you can easily find one. If you wait a bit you can buy one of the new machines and become famous here writing the first thread on it. Dan and I were chatting on that grinder...that baby is huge.

I found Italia-Outlet and Espresso Coffee Shop but are they reliable? Prices seems reasonable.

Italia-outlet is the same firm that I used. They used to be called Best-of-Italy. They still had my reference on the website from many moons ago. They were great with me back then and they seem to still be in business.

Does anyone know who makes La Spaziale Junior and Lusso (S/Lux 450) grinders?
