So I just ordered my Silvia from Whole Latte Love. I paid $476 for a refurb. Pretty good deal? Are they usually pretty good about shipping. I'm in Texas so hopefully it won't take that long to get here.

I've never used a Silvia but I've noticed the experts here seem to regard them highly, the comment I see most often is that with practice top quality espresso can be made, no small thing. Have fun!

Good luck! While you're waiting for it to arrive, this forum's FAQs and Favorites has quite a few threads about Silvia and Rocky.

Richard -

Congrat's on the new machine. We Silvia owners all went through some frustration during the first weeks. But once you get the ritual down, you'll get some very good espresso. So hang in there if your results are not immediately what you hoped for.

If you haven't read Randy G's site, then I suggest you take a look while you are waiting for delivery.

You didn't mention buying a grinder, but you are going to need a good one to get the most from your machine. Do you have anything left in your budget for this?

I'm actually in the market for a refurb Rocky. Hopefully I can get a decent amount of cash from the sale of my old machine and grinder. If not then I'll just have to start saving my change again lol. There's always my credit card too lol....

Does anyone have any opinions on the Gaggia MDF? Is it up to par for the Silvia or no?

About how long does it usually take Whole Latte Love to email a tracking number? I still haven't gotten anything since I placed my order.

It should go out when the package ships. Call them, they can tell you over the phone.

Hi Bassoon,

Congrats on your purchase! I got mine (with a doserless Rocky) last December, and while it has been frustrating at times, the coffee I'm enjoying now makes it all worth it. Feel free to mail me directly if you have any questions or anything, and I'll help if I can.

It's here! I'm looking at some Rockys on eBay that seem decently priced. My Solis just isn't going to cut it :-( I am selling my old DeLonghi EC701 and a Starbucks Barista grinder if anyone knows anyone that's interested!
