Noticed after a recent citric acid descale that the lever that activates the pump on my Isomac Tea when pushed down all the way after brewing a shot on occasion slips back up to the first stop about 20 deg right before the pump operates. Should I be concerned ?

Please, no cross posting. Jim Schulman answered your question in alt.coffee (link):

I've never seen that. But a chemical backflush to make the lever sticky will solve it. After that, once the oils are back to their normal levels, everything should be fine (at least that's my rosy scenario).

No problem Will, I understand that it's a grey area of netiquette, i.e., posting the same question to several sites. There's some overlap in the online communities these sites serve, so I recommend posting to the one that best suits your question (e.g., CoffeeGeek has forums for regional events, HB has the Marketplace forum for vendor announcements and On the Bench for research blogging, etc.). If your question is broad enough that it could be addressed to any of several sites, post to the one you frequent most often.

PS: The lever has a detent (hump on the cam) that should offer enough resistance to keep it in place. It will probably loosen up after a few shots lubricate the expansion chamber valve assembly (see http://coffeeparts.com/futurmat/fut1.html for a detailed exploded diagram).
