I'm loving my Linea 4AV....even though it's in the garage

Brought the machine home from the workshop so I can play with it before the cafe opens....Talk about one's caffeine consumption increasing This makes my Micro Casa Leva look like toy, albeit a beautiful toy, but the shots I'm pulling on the Linea are amazing. I can't wait to see what happens once I get used to it.

That almost looks comical. That monster machine with a little Rocky sitting beside it, it just dwarfs that grinder. My garage is full of motorcycles.

Dan....you're good.....It doesn't have a basket in it since I've been using that one as my backflush PF, swapping the single with the blind disk (which can both be seen sitting on the top).
I'm waiting on four new gaskets anyway, figured those would be parts that need replaced frequently. Since parts are rather inexpensive, I'm trying to keep common parts on hand. I'm just glad to be able to work out all of the kinks and get used to the machine before I open to the public. I don't want to be learning a new machine and charging people for inferior drinks.

Judging from the look on your face in your avatar, I'd say yes, you've been having too much caffeine.

Seems like the super Jolly would be with the Linea and the Rocky with Micro....

Shadowfax is bringing up a good point. If you are learning the machine, you should be using your shop grinder. I know from my limited experience that changing from one grinder to the other does make a difference in the cup using my home machine. I would imagine that difference would be more pronounced with a commercial machine, any pros (malachi) want to confirm/dispute that?

If you're actually trying to get used to the machine then yes... working with a different grinder is going to introduce an unwanted variable. This is particularly true with a stepped versus stepless grinder.

I'm still overhauling the Super Jolly, so it isn't in commission yet. I'm hoping to finish it up today......now that I have the extra motivation.
But I totally agree that using the actual commercial grinder will be a big improvement, especially having a doser. When I'm just wanting to pull 8 shots in a row, standing in front of the Rocky for 30secs at a time kills my flow.

If you lived closer to Dayton, I would bring my MM over with a freshly rested batch of home roast. Love to try a commercial machine with my own concoction. I am sure it would be quite a humbling experience, especially after the first pitcher of bath bubble milk.
