See Shipping Rancilio Silvia. Since freezing is not an issue and I assume a mover is responsible, draining the boiler and careful packaging are all that's required. It's probably overkill, but it can't hurt to double box as movers have been known to drop things. Remember to pack the accessories separately to avoid (vibration) scratches.

Dan,

Many thanks! Does good coffee exist in Dallas?

No, not really....There are a few mediocre shops, but even those are few and far between. This is not specialty coffee country. There's a few places in Austin, but that's a bit of a commute.

There's a place in Granbury called The Mud Puddle running Zoka on a 4grp Linea.

I trained them, so naturally I think they do a good job.

But.. that's on the Ft. Worth side of things, and is a bit of a commute from Dallas. (an hour or more)
(no website as of yet)

IN Dallas, Gachet Coffee Lounge is okay. It's not great, but it doesn't suck.

It's downtown.

Oh, and White Rock Coffee roasts in-house, and they're on the Northwest Highway east of 75(aka Central).

I've yet to try it, but I've heard good things.

I think I can help. First, pull an espresso from her. Be honest, it's not as good as you wish it were. While you sip your thin, over-extracted-but-still-better-than-any-coffee-shop espresso, sit down at your computer, and google the route to the tallest building in your area. Gently place Silvia in your car, and drive to that building. Lovingly carry her to the top of that building, and throw her the eff off. Go home, and place an order for that floozy Anita or her sister Andreja, or if you're feeling feisty, Alex (which is fine), and have it sent to your new address.

Dunno, that's how I'd prep her.
