Hey all, my first post here and with it comes greetings from the UK :D

For about a year I've owned a Gaggia E90 machine, but haven't got a manual for it - it's about 15-20 years old and was delivered during the floods last July - I was kind of excited to get it and it's been installed and running but I have no manual for the machine.

Firstly, does anyone have a manual? - I can supply the Serial #'s if it helps
Secondly, the flow rate from the group head is far too fast and I can't slow it down. Anyone know how to adjust the flow so I get proper extraction?

I'm really a novice to all of this, and I thought I liked my coffee til I started browsing the web, I'm a no-body and know nothing in the broad scheme of things

Any help would be appreciated

Many thanks

Andy

Generally speaking, the manuals accompanying espresso machines contain little useful how-to information. As for the flow rate, it's determined by the grind setting and the freshness of the coffee. This and much more is covered in the Recommend Reading of the FAQs and Favorites Digest.

In addition to what Dan said, if you do a "google search" using Gaggia E90, you find this:

http://www.gaggia.com/macchine-da..._E90-D90-Evolution

However, that is probably a manual for the current model and how yours differs would be a series of guesses. Who installed this machine? Is the rotary pump installed separately? If so, the pressure to the pump should be regulated and the pressure from the pump to the machine (adjustable at the pump) during shot pulling should be within the range of 8 to 9 bar.
