Want to talk espresso but not sure which forum? If so, this is the right one.

I ordered a bag of Toscano and Biloya from CCC (my first time to order from them). Placed the order Saturday morning. I wonder how that "First 20 orders get a free 12 oz. bag of Biloya" went.

I am kinda down that I don't have the cash for the MXKR. But that's OK. Focusing on being happy with the Mini, focusing on being happy with the Mini...

Happy Anniversary to the best espresso forums on the planet! And a great big thanks to the guy who stirs our pot of stone soup (that's you, Dan). :D

Yes, indeed. Happy anniversary to the coolest coffee site on the internet. The information I find here is invaluable, and the people who contribute to this site are consistently helpful and friendly. For a site that strikes me as more full of nerds than any other forum I have read, this crowd sure is nice.

Thanks for all your hard work, Dan, and thanks to all the great sponsors of the site. I managed to win one of the free bags of Biloya from CCC. I'm getting excited about a new coffee experience! Happy Birthday Home-Barista! HB^2!

So without getting overly mushy and melodramatic about the whole thing: How'd it go yesterday, Dan? What did you do celebrate??? Inquiring minds, and all that . . .

Seriously, I want to offer my congratulations and best wishes to you and Home-Barista.com -- may the site (and community) continue to thrive. Thank you, Dan -- AND all of the sponsors -- who provide such a wealth of information and assistance to all of us here . . . there's no place like home [barista.com]!

I'm glad to say I availed myself of Stefano's parts discount... 8)

Happy anniversary Dan and HB, this site is definitely upping the state of consumer awareness and a great thing for coffee and coffee lovers (both newbies like myself and experts alike, I'm sure).

Dan and "staff"...
Just like your step brother CG, you have provided many hours (too many, my wife exclaims) of entertainment, information and the occasional slap on the wrist... OK, I deserved it when administered.
Many thanks. Happy 3-day.

I'd also like to thank the rank and file members here. The coffee community is tops.

Unless the sponsor has stated otherwise, Friday is the last day for the anniversary discounts. Want to upgrade your gear, try some new coffees, or get accessories/parts for less? If so, the clock is ticking...

Thanks again to all the great resources, education and occasionally entertainment that everyone on this site provides. This community rocks.

And hopefully, so will my MXKR when it arrives from Chris'. Woohoo!

Grazie mille to HB and its sponsors. I ordered hardware (new grinder and roaster) and software (coffee) from three different sponsors: 1st-Line Equipment, Chris's Coffee and Coffee Klatch. So I've done my part to boost the US economy; now it's up to the barons of Wall Street to do theirs.

Same time next year, right? Count me in.

Maybe, maybe not. Sponsors have reported a very subdued response. One commented "It's kind of like birthday parties when you are a kid versus when you are 45." Who would have guessed HB is already approaching middle age?

Thanks to all the sponsors for all the great deals.

As luck would have it, the timing of the anniversary coincided with my decision to sell my Macap M4 and upgrade my grinder. I was initially planning on the Cimbali Max Hybrid, but Chris' Coffee's $200 off coupon (and immediate availability) swayed me over to the Compak K10 (due to arrive today).
Coffee Klatch's coupon also pushed me to go ahead and order some of their coffees for the first time.

Happy birthday from a long-time reader and first-time poster (and my new Compak K10 WBC)!

(The grinder, by the way, is fantastic so far...I'm finding it to be a huge upgrade from my SJ.)Image

I'm sorry to hear that, Dan. I've been hanging around HB for around a year and a half now and have learned loads about making good espresso through your work and the contributions of moderators, sponsors, and site members.

The level of sponsor/site interaction is one of the things I've come to truly appreciate about HB and it has influenced my buying decisions. The Anniversary Celebrations have not only provided a great opportunity to explore new coffees and get some accessories without breaking my budget, but I think it's also very important for all of us to provide some support and show appreciation to the sponsors who enable this rich, robust resource and community.

Because of HB I've become a customer of Intelligentsia, Counter Culture, and Espresso Parts and anticipate buying from at least a couple of other sponsors in the near future. As a low-rung espresso newbie I can only urge everyone to do the same when spending their espresso funds so that our sponsors remain our sponsors and the HB site and community continue to do the voodoo they do best. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Happy Anniversary, HB!
