Before joining the ranks of the Counter Culture crew in June 2003, Lydia worked as a nanny, law clerk, preschool teacher and waitress. As a member of our Customer Relations team, Lydia provides coffee knowledge, council, and barista training, and also maintains the relationships between Counter Culture forms with customers

Counter Culture has heart, passion and a moral conscience. Our coffee is grown in a sustainable way, ensuring that habitats are preserved. The growers with whom we partner are treated with respect and paid well, reflecting our belief that our successes are interdependent. We’re a community-based company that wants everyone to live well. And if that’s revolutionary, then so be it.

Special coffees require a tremendous amount of skilled attention to achieve greatness, and the men and women who produce these coffees deserve to be compensated well for their efforts.

We are committed to frequent interaction with the people and places that produce our coffees, and we are committed to spending as much time as possible 'at origin' to practice sustainability first hand.

The Origins section is where we share our experiences in the places where coffee is grown. Traveling to origin and learning about the environment and culture of coffee growing countries is a vital part of what we do.
