Meet Tia Walle, our October Star of the Month.
Tia has been a part of the Counter Culture team since February 2005, and is in charge of order entry, which makes her the person who ensures that your coffee order goes out smoothly.
Tia grew up in the bay area of California until age 10 when her mom's job brought them to Cary, North Carolina. She studied art though multi-disciplinary studies at North Carolina State University, and has a degree in Arts Applications. Tia enjoys cooking, shopping and taking road trips. Well, it looks like we made a mistake. We didn't anticipate the outcry that occurred when our fair Sigri was no longer available . . . I got a number of melancholy emails and phone messages about it. And, you know, I can't stand that kind of heartbreak.

We value the sense of community that pervade the coffee cooperatives and estates that we work with, just as we support the coffeehouses, groceries, and restaurants that bring a sense of community to their neighborhoods.

Our new Atlanta education and training center will be ready to go very soon. We secured an amazing space in a revitalized factory complex on West Marietta Street called the King Plow Arts Center. Walled by exposed original brick, the loft-style space features original hardwood flooring that highlights the building's age in a subtle, interesting way. The light beams in from three large factory windows to create a warm and inviting feel.

It is quite distinctively dried, using wire fixed net, a manner traditionally used in East Africa, but rarely in Central America.
