Generally I ignore national magazine "top five" lists, though I certainly agree with the choice of roasters in this one by Food & Wine:
  1. Stumptown Coffee Roasters
  2. Terroir Coffee Company
  3. Counter Culture Coffee
  4. Barefoot Coffee Roasters
  5. Intelligentsia Coffee
It's especially heartwarming to see HB supporters and sponsors among the winners. :D

Dan,
I would agree. Most of those national polls are ridiculously off-base, but Food & Wine pulled a shocker! They got it very close to right. Some could argue one or two of the positions, but that has GOT to be the most accurate poll I've ever seen on a national level on any subject.
Kudos to all of the roasters and the cafes on the list.

Now I have to order some Hairbender. Never had a chance to try it.

I'm amazed too -- one can argue about top X list, but these five would surely be in most altie's top 10. This may be some sort of milestone.
