My Europiccola is sick, and I'm not sure where the problem lies. Basically, water doesn't always enter the group like it should. Sometimes it goes in normally and I get good flow, other times I get a trickle, and sometimes I get nothing at all. It's a problem that's getting progressively worse. Needless to say, my coffee's suffering, and thus I'm suffering.
In essence, when I raise the lever and get no water, I keep lowering and raising until I get some. Sometimes it takes several times to get any. The piston should be traveling as far as it's supposed to; the lever itself doesn't impede it at all, and it's not on upside down.
I use filtered water for the machine, and it's only a few months old. It seems to heat the way it always has; it's never run dry or anything like that. I'm wondering if there isn't some sort of buildup along the intake tube, or some blockage going into the group itself.
I clean it pretty regularly, and pop the dispersion screen off about every 2 weeks for a good cleaning. The only maintenance I've been lacking on is adding new lubricant to the shaft, and I've got some of that on order.
