Well, I have a couple of makers with no steam frother wand. I would suggest that these little battery boosted bad beauties or their higher priced sisters do produce a very good microfoam from heated milk. Easy to clean, unlike the French press type frothers. Mine recently died after two years of occasional use, home and travel.

When ever we're outback, we take the PRESSO and a Zassenhaus grinder. We always have the portable gas burner in the van so I can even warm milk for the missus, although there is no chance of microfoam west of Tamworth.....
