Dear all;

I drink straight espresso, and more or less am the only coffee drinker in the house.

Every so often, we have a brunch, and I will need to knock out a few cappas, say 4 or 5 times a year.

Is the extra $400 really worth it for the HX, given the light home use that I have? Compare this to the single boiler E-61 Quickmill ( I forget the name )
Isomac also makes one at around this price point as well.

I have an Expobar HX at the office, and without a doubt, it is needed there.

Any comments welcome

HX

That's the dilemma I'm in also. I drink only shots & Americanos. I'm debating among Mia, Anita and Eliane. Single boilers are lower maintenance which is a HUGE plus, but Anita is just a little more than Eliane. My wife likes lattes, but only drinks them rarely. I've been stuck with analysis paralysis for way too long.

Even with a very fast single boiler machine, the SL70, I gave up offering cappas when I had to make more than 2 or 3 in a row. It just turned into an embarrassing deadspot in the party. I have people over fairly frequently, and I like a cappa myself in the morning and before going to bed, so my decision was fairly easy. For your purposes, a handsome vacpot could serve as well -- there should be a little wow-factor to company coffee.
