Its a matter of priorities. <shrug> There are some things I could care less about that aren't a passion, there are some things that are great delights to me. My kid, my boyfriend, my cats, my bicycles and my music - pretty much in that order.

I'll applaud you on having your priorities straight with respect to kids and boyfriend, but that double latte etc, coming out to $2950 a year! Imagine if you stopped the double latte. You could save that money for two years and have yourself a GS3. Then before you leave for work, have yourself a double, or triple espresso with an aftertaste that will last you all day!

This is the decision I made. I decided to stop going to Starbucks and buy myself a ECM Giotto (plus beans). I have my latte and espresso in the morning. I buy some whole leaf tea from China Town San Francisco and drink tea during the day. Every morning, I look forward to that wonderful espresso taste that you can't get at the local Starbucks.

My advice is, stop your latte, save your $2950 a year and use it for an awesome espresso machine for your mornings.

Bad news for us waiting for a GS3

Here is the response below I received directly from La Marzocco this week Feb. 20/06.
Does not look like we will be seeing the GS3 anytime soon.

"We kindly thank you for the interest shown towards La Marzocco's products.

The machine which you are interested in it's still a prototype, for that reason it will be produced late next year. Please, for any feedback or further information don't hesitate to contact our local representative who will be very pleased to support you with all the needed information and keep you updated on new developments.

While remaining available for any additional request,

I spoke to Mike Lanz at ESI. He's the sales rep for the Southwest Region (AZ, CA, HI, NV, UT)

I know Mike well.
Here is the thing... Mike doesn't work for La Marzocco. He's a rep for a company that distributes La Marzocco in the US.
In other words... as good of a guy as he is - I would not say he's in the loop on future LM products.

Not what it sounded like

Mike talked on the phone as if he was in the loop. I guess he was just telling me what he knew what was going, as if he really knew what was going on.
