Hello,
my Cremina started recently (a week ago) to start hissing when heating up, and does a steady hiss while under pressure. It does seem to come from the top of the water level glass thingie (what's it called?), and I just sent out an email to the manufacturer asking for quotes on replacement parts.

If there is anything else I could do, I'd love to know that.

Regards,
Harald

If it is at the top of the sight glass then it is your pressure relief valve. If you look at my rebuild post you will see that there is a small silicone washer in the valve and there is a sealing washer and brass washer where the valve screws in. I would think that it is time to replace your gaskets if you have not done so in a while. There is a replacement kit. If gaskets are good then you are building up too much pressure and it could be your pressure stat either needs adjusting or replacing. Listen to see if is clicking off and the status light is turning off. If not then she will blow through the valve.

Thanks for the input,
the machine does switch heat off and on as before, so I think a gasket replacement is in order. As far as I know, this hasn't been done as long as I have the machine, and I cannot vouch for the previous owners. I am still waiting for an answer from the olympia folks about where to get this stuff in germany. The official trade partner in germany only sells the machines, AFAICT.

You should be able to order a gasket set right from their web site. Go to services and support, bring up your machine and you can click the parts right from the technical diagrams. Put them in the shopping cart and check out. They will come back to you for credit card information but the process does work. On the bottom corner of the tech diagrams will be the parts for full gasket sets.

Good Luck.

Steve

Hello Steve,
I had quite a hard time to find the link you meant. Actually, I like their ordering scheme a lot.

Harald

How long does olympia need to reply to an order?

Hello Steven,
I ordered a complete gasket set as well as a new security valve from Olympia. Now I am waiting for a reply for them. How long did they take to process your order?

Regards,
Harald

Well it depends when Markus reads it. It will take 2-3 days for them to contact you on your email and then they will send right out. Just be a little patient.

Hello Steve,
it took them a week, but that's OK. I would've written them today for a reminder.
