But take a look at this: http://www.shoutfile.com/v/gSfSsCpR/Why_People_Believe_Americans_Are_Stupid
At 3:30 this starts to get scary and at the end it gets really scary
It could properly be made anywhere, asking enough people

It's looked upon (with notable exceptions) as stupid to bring too many new people into this crowded planet with everyone fighting for resources, and others clawing for everything they can get, regardless of their needs, and so the smart ones are limiting their breeding habits. The stupids are really impressed with their own progeny-pumping abilities, however, and are squeezing out mouths-to-feed whether they can afford to feed, house, or educated them, much less control them.
Given the present trend, the stupids will outnumber anyone with any sense at all in just a few more generations.
I still think mandatory sterilization for young boys ought to occur right about the same time as the girls go off for their 'special' health classes. IQ and financial goals have to be met before the reversal, too.

The trend in Europe is that we are not making babies enough to feed the big 2ww generation and ourselves :|

- Not that we are eating them

Edit: It's a little strange, but these two videos have to be opened in new by clicking the link otherwise they are not available :?

"....i've heard of turkey, but hungry - never heard of that"
actually not a bad one :D

i recall my first encounter with a texan cheerleader as she asked me if i came from europe to the states all the way by car and how long it took me to drive there. she was surprised by my answer that the bridge is not completed yet because she did not know there was water in between.

That's sad, but just to show that geography stymies those outside the US too, as a US resident living abroad, I was often asked for vacation recommendations by those planning to visit the US for a week. Typically they'd ask about Disneyland (in California) or Disney World (in Florida), New York City, and the Grand Canyon, thinking they could drive between them during their stay. "Sure, you can do that if you give up sleeping and only wave to these sites as you speed by..."

There is more than one? Last I looked Washington D.C. was the only capitol of the United States. However there are 50 state capitols in the United States.

Wow - there's a lot of energy on in this thread recently. And there's a decent difference in between CAPITOL and CAPITAL that will straighten out some of the last entries.

Anyway, I'll try to de-escalate it a bit.

A co-worker and I are walking through the Shanghai Airport for a long-awaited return to the USA. We stop in at a "coffee house" in the International Terminal before the leg to Tokyo.

Image

Clearly, hygiene is paramount in the Shanghai Airport coffee business. A point in our favor? Not sure. It's an automatic Astoria and the logo badges all have the correct spelling so there's a good chance it actually came from Italy. So we sit. A couple of German's laugh at us as they leave with the bill.

Image

Fantastic colors on the machine. Maybe the machine buyer in China likes the sponge look.

Image

It arrives with a bottle of French mineral water. It is fantastically mediocre. Almost cold, super blonde, crema is watery and bitter but it's slightly better than the instant stuff with powdered creamer we have been drinking for the last 8 days.

Image

Here's why the Germans were laughing:

Evian water x 2 = 60RMB or $8.21 USD
Double espresso x 1 = 60RMB or $8.21 USD
Cappuccino x 1 = 60RMB or $8.21 USD
Total = $24.65 USD + 3% Visa Currency Fee or $25.39 USD

LOL, literal English translations can be amusing. I have always been told that the English language is one of the most difficult to master. I have been speaking it for 37 years and have still not mastered it.

I must say I am envious of those of you that get to travel around the world. Canada is the only other country I have visited, and I don't really count that. But I must say, I have yet to run out of places to visit in my own country, although the espresso is not much better than that cup you got in Shanghai.

Proof positive of this fact is that "G-H-O-T-I" is pronounced the same as "fish."

Grammar and spelling in English (especially since there are multiple versions) are the most difficult to master as a second language. Spoken English is easier than spoken Cantonese, but supposedly it's harder for Cantonese Native to learn to write English than the other way around.

OTOH, I've had a friend of mine that worked in a New Mexico resort tell stories about the visitors that ask about vaccinations and visas, English-'Mexican' Dictionaries, exchange rate, etc, when calling about bookings. From other US states....

I used to tutor English as a second language to French students in exchange for French lessons. They thought the grammar was a breeze compared to French. Their main complaint was wildly different meanings of seemingly equivalent English verbal phrases: "put the book down", "put up with a difficult situation", "put someone down (insult)", "get the book", "get into trouble", "get around a problem", "get over it", etc. French frequently has a unique verb for the same English verbal phrase; English usually has a verb phrase and an equivalent "non colloquial" verb adopted into the language from French or German. The English salad of pronunciations also drove them batty (e.g., slough and dough).

By 'grammar' I meant to insinuate grammatical arrangement. but, of course, I failed a lot of English along the way (as you may have inferred from the corrections you've assisted me with the past year or two! ; > )
and spelling is difficult when you want to spell dough and plough and slough. Not to mention drought and drought, meaning almost two entirely opposite things!

I suppose they named it the "Mini" for the same reason they call him "Little Kevin" on The Wire?

"The [DallaCorte] Mini is the smallest espresso coffee machine in the world in which the temperatures of the steam and the brewing boilers can be independently regulated. "

Technical specifications:

Dimensions in inches: 49.4 x d.15.35 x h.13.80

http://www.espressoparts.com/product/DALLACORTE_MINI/

Regards
Timo

P.S. Dimensions were corrected within seconds of this post. Fast work :!:
