By the way, I dunno where you are going with this all, but in my household I get extra WAF points for actually making things look nice. I was thinking that this could look really cool if the hx were transparent showing off the gleaming copper or stainless tubing helix inside. It'd be easy to do with standardized tubing sizes and endcaps through which the plumbing travels. Couple led's, ok, maybe she won't find it very attractive after all.

I've completed a functional prototype of this Long HX machine, but it is powered by an vibe pump rather then a lever...

To avoid risking my LMWDP membership I'll have to write more about it more in the 'Espresso Gear' forum :)

Hopefully I'll get a good (looking) shot out of it tomorrow and will post some more photos and details.

As long as you have a lever, or a friend with a lever, I will campaign for you to retain your membership.....We look forward to HX-enstein...

Hey guys! Unexpected delay today... :( leak where the TC entered the kettle and wrong wiring on the diagram for the PID and AC Converter (inverter? relay? dunno!) ... but everything is working now! ::sigh:: must wait another day... but after waiting a whole year a day ain't that long ;)

Tested it at 12 bar this morning- no leaks! :D

Will pull some shots this afternoon... it ain't easy going from the ~44mm Caravel basket to the 58mm Gaggia though...
